Abbey and Matt's big day is just two weeks away and I honestly cannot wait to celebrate with them. It's been incredible to be able to work with Abbey to design her wedding invitation suite. Check it out!Read More
Hello lovelies! I cannot believe November is already upon us - what is yours like? I'm looking forward to a month of craziness at the full time job, a Thanksgiving with family that will be... interesting... and lots of football, naturally.
I've got a bunch of things to look forward to though, including some really fun projects that are hush hush for now. In the meantime, here's a free download (click image to see the PDF file) to keep us on track and counting down the days until we can put up that Christmas tree!
Abbey and Matt's Save the Date was challenging and fun - my first foray into watercolor. They currently live in Brooklyn (which will also be the location of their wedding) so it made perfect sense to incorporate that into our custom designRead More
I spend a lot of my time on my real job. But in the mornings, before leaving for work I try and sit down and write. I search for a good quote, or try some new style, just a little something to dip my pen in before spending the majority of my day typing.
On the weekends, I tend to have a bit more time to take on projects. I found this frame in the black hole closet that I try and ignore (but not for long because it's hopefully about to become an expanded bathroom).
I still need to spray paint the frame gold - you know, when I finally purchase the metallic spray paint that will be used on 90% of the projects around the house that are not finished. This will eventually be hung in my home office.
(For those interested in the 2 year plan, home office is on the list, after the bathroom expansion, laundry room creation and potentially landscape update but at the very least flower box creation.)
I thought to do something that spoke about kicking ass and taking names, but ultimately that's not the vibe I want for this business. I want to be a little more focused on bringing God into my life and celebrating that this whole thing has been a result of faith in Him and the journey that He's taking me on.
New style alert! Waiting for a bride to name her and claim her this one is called Lindsay in the interim. Cannot wait to use this style. So loopy. So fun. The perfect blend between classic and trendy, this style can be dressed up for a formal wedding or dressed down for a baby shower or birthday party.
Neiman Marcus asked me to hand letter their 10th anniversary celebration invitations and envelopes. They went with a classic gold on white scheme which looked absolutely beautiful in metallic ink.Read More
That feather, though. K. Funk Photography is going through a rebrand and I am so lucky to have been able to scribble this logo idea together with Katie while we were at our full time job.
We were playing around with very simple ideas and Katie brought up feathers and their special significance for her. Automatically, I knew we had to incorporate that into the logo.
Her new site should be up and running any minute - check her out at http://www.kfunkphotography.com/
We probably wrote Lauren's name 80 million times trying to come up with just the right look for her new logo.
Lauren wanted a minimalist design and something that appeared hand written without looking like a signature. Voila! I love how this turned out and am so grateful for the opportunity to push and expand what I'm able to offer clients.
Lauren also happens to be an excellent photographer. We had a blast running around the house (did I mention we're roomies?) taking photos for this site. She's incredibly talented so be sure and follow her on Instagram: @laurenrathbunphoto and check out her site: LaurenRathbun.com
Inspired by the K. Funk Photography logo (coming soon), this style is minimalistic and perfect for the event that’s not quite as formal.
Katie’s style is so effortless you kind of wonder if she spends hours and hours making it that way or if she’s entirely unaware of her grace. (Let’s be honest, you’re pretty sure it’s the latter and that. drives. you. crazy.) Likewise, these addresses will show your guests that same kind of effortless – but flawless - perfection.
Inspired by this #NotARule article - Rachel has no upper case letters. Trendy but still classic, this style is for the hostess who'd like guests to know that rules were meant to be broken!
Waiting for a bride/hostess to claim her and name her, this style will be called "Rachel" in the interim.
This lady’s style is always on point! When she asked me to do the addressing for her wedding invitations she looked through a lot of my different styles via Instagram posts. (Hello, 21st Century)
She wanted something clean without too much flourish. Understated elegance just shines from her so I thought this would be a perfect fit.
With just enough loops to make it clear to your guests that this shindig is formal, Caroleene is a perfect style for someone who wants a classic look to their invites.
